WORKING MOTHER MAKES COMMUTE TIME MEANINGFUL FOR OUR KIDS
OHIO– Necessity was the mother of invention for Wilma Hollis, a Chicago Television Producer whose lengthy commute to work left little quality time for her then- 4 year old daughter. A Christian mother of three, Wilma wanted to devote more time teaching her daughter life lessons using the Bible as her guide. But after spending an average of 10 to 15 hours commuting each week, there was little time and even less energy for those all-important lessons. This dilemma gave birth to LifeSpeak Productions, LLC and it’s first project, a CD entitled: LifeSpeak for Kids Volume I.

“I kept asking myself, ‘How can I add value to this commute time and address my need to spend more time teaching her God’s Word? How can I use this time to increase my daughter’s faith in God?’ I believed if I was being challenged in this way, I was sure that there were other parents, grandparents or even caregivers who had the same problem. All parents, grandparents and caregivers of children have similar challenges and we juggle multiple responsibilities. For Christians, time spent with your children around God’s Word isn’t an option, it’s a necessity. It’s how we pass on our faith. At the end of the day, when I reflected on the amount of time I had spent (or not spent) teaching my youngest child the Word of God, it brought on feelings of guilt and inadequacy, and that’s not what God wants for any of us. And that’s how the CD came about. It’s called LifeSpeak for Kids Volume I . When it comes to teaching God’s Word to our children, we mothers, fathers, grandparents…everyone one of us can use all the help we can get.”
